We found this ooeheca in November and a bigger one in January. We put them in a plactic container and waited. ystrday thar were only 1 or 2 but today thar are alot more we are going to hatch frootflys for thim to eat

Wheel Bug -- Arilus cristatus

it wus 33 mm long.

its antenus er 2 cm long. 

the beek is 6 mm.

its kold a weel bug.

it wus found on the porch. its pretory and it eats other bugs. it has hoks on the ind of the legs to hok its pray. it stiks its beek in  its pray and spits. thin it suks out  wts inside. wen we skweest its bely ornj poop kam owt its butt so we theek its bin eating laty bugs.     

Peeling puffball

We found this mushroom in the yard. It is called a peeling puffball. It's scientific name is Lycoperdon marginatum. It is about 2 cm across. We are waiting for it to peel. We've been taking pictures once a week. If it doesn't peel, it may be a different mushroom called a Vascellum curtisii. We'll be watching! More pictures to come after it starts peeling.

(NOTE: Ivy has come to find typing a tiresome endeavor. So I, Poppy, am typing up this, and probably subsequent, Nature Notes. However, Ivy still writes up her Nature Notes by hand in a real paper notebook.)
